Conrad Hackett is a demographer with the Pew Research Center, specializing in cross-national measurement of religion and how religion influences demographic processes, such as population growth. Previously, Conrad was a National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Population Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin.

The question used to identify evangelicals in today’s exit polls is “Would you describe yourself as a born-again or evangelical Christian?” Unfortunately, this is not a great survey question.
